Metrorail (usually abbreviated as MRL) is the premier component of Miami's tetrapartite Mass Transit (or Public Transport in Imperial English). The other three being
Metrobus,
Metromover, and
Miami Trolley.
Fatimataj Mahal is served by MRL @ Culmer Station in both the
Northbound
and
Southbound
directions.
It is noteworthy that MRL is the equivalent of underground subways used for rapid transit in metropolises across the world—but with what is essentially a single
overground track running along the North-South corridor, it is anything but!
For the uninitiated reader, MRL cannot go "underground" not only because Miami's terrain is largely supported by coral reefs and highly-porous limestone (in lieu of being bolstered by bona-fide rock
required to provide reliable sturdy tunnels) but more so because it needs to be kept
"overground" for transparency from the rather high level of corruption prevalent among city officals!
Interestingly, plans are underway to add a new three-mile
overground track to link the MRL from Downtown Miami to South Beach but the project will not be completed by the end of the century! When interrogated as to why a
meager track necessitates a rather long timescale, the city officials argue that "Rome was not built in a day!". For visitors to Miami with ambitions of riding the MRL
from MIA to South Beach without stepping a foot on ground, it is strongly recommended that they reschedule their trip for the Year 2100.
